Equipment

Ingredients

  • 1 (32 oz) bag frozen french fries
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese (shredded)
  • 3 green onions (sliced)
  • 8 strips bacon (*see instructions)
  • cup homemade ranch (optional for dipping)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 425℉. Or follow the temperature indicated on the package instructions.
  • Place the fries onto a baking sheet with raised edges and bake for 25-30 minutes or until they have a crispy texture; stir them halfway through the cooking time, around 15 minutes.
  • While the fries are baking, cook the bacon in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once the bacon reaches your desired level of crispiness, move it to paper towels on a plate. When cooled, chop into bite-sized pieces and set aside.
  • Once the fries are done baking, remove them from the oven and turn the oven to broil or 500°F.
  • Sprinkle shredded cheese and bacon over the top of the fries. Then, place them back in the oven and broil for 1-3 minutes or until cheese is melted.
  • Top with green onions before serving, and Enjoy!

Notes

  • You can also make them in the air fryer; it's best to cook them in multiple smaller batches. Set the air fryer to 390°F and cook each batch for 10 to 14 minutes until they reach a crisp texture. When all the batches are ready to serve, place them back into the air fryer basket and reheat for an additional 2 to 3 minutes. Sprinkle cheese and bacon on top and cook for a further 2 to 3 minutes until the cheese melts.
  • You can opt for baked sweet potato fries instead of regular fries, use turkey bacon or bacon alternatives, and choose a reduced-fat cheese to cut down on calories and saturated fat.
