Ingredients

  • 2 cups warm water
  • 1 tbsp yeast
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 4½-5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp vegetable or canola oil
  • 1 cup cinnamon chips
  • 3 tbsp cinnamon

Instructions

  • Add yeast and 1 tbsp of granulated sugar to 2 cups of warm water. Let sit for 5-10 minutes or until the mixture forms bubbles on top.
  • In a large mixing bowl, mix together granulated sugar, vegetable oil, and yeast mixture. Slowly add all-purpose flour, 1 cup at a time, until the dough pulls away from the sides of the bowl.
  • Place the dough into a lightly greased glass bowl. Spray a thin layer of cooking spray onto a piece of plastic wrap and place it over the top of the bowl. Let the dough rise until it doubles in size.
  • Spray 2 4x8 bread pans with cooking spray and set aside.
  • Once the dough has doubled in size, place half of it on a lightly floured flat surface. Gently flatten out the dough to the same length as your bread pan. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon and cinnamon chips on top. Carefully roll the dough up and place it in your greased bread pan. Repeat this step for the other half of the dough. Cover both loaves with plastic wrap that has been sprayed with cooking spray.
  • Preheat your over to 350℉.
  • Let the dough rise until it is about 1 inch higher than the bread pans.
  • Remove the plastic wrap and bake for 25-30 minutes or until the bread has a slight golden brown color to it. Remove the bread from the oven and let sit for 10 minutes before removing from the pan.
  • Serve and ENJOY!

Notes

Storage:

This cinnamon swirl bread lasts 3-4 days at room temperature in an airtight container or bag. You can also freeze it, and it will last for up to 3 months. Thaw it overnight in the refrigerator when you are ready to use it.

Tips:

  • Your bread will rise the best when you combine the yeast with warm water. The ideal temperature is between 105 and 115 degrees F. Yeast is a living thing; you don't want to kill it with hot water.
  • You can find cinnamon chips online at stores like Amazon, or you can also find them at specialty grocery stores.
  • For a fun twist, add ½ cup of raisins. Add them in when you are sprinkling the cinnamon chips and cinnamon over the rolled out dough.
